Join our webinar to find out how you can participate in the UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions) programme and learn what is required to apply for Country Programmes funding. This online event will focus on the themes and timelines in preparation for the first Malaysia-UK PACT call for proposals planned for October 2020.

Who is this event for?

Organisations who are able to deliver technical assistance projects that will build capacity in the thematic areas below are invited to attend this event so they can find out more about how to apply for funding. Government agencies and government departments are not eligible to receive UK PACT funding, but their priorities inform the thematic sectors of the calls for proposals.

Malaysia-UK PACT Call for Proposals

We will be looking for proposals in the following areas:

  • Green finance
  • Energy
  • Climate action enabling environment (CAEE)

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its socio-economic impact in Malaysia, we also welcome innovative projects that respond to this situation across the above themes. Project selection will take place through an open call to prospective applicants in two stages: 1) Expression of Interest (EOI) to outline how a proposed project responds to the call; and 2) full proposals for those shortlisted at the EOI stage.

About UK PACT

UK PACT is funded by the UK Government’s Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) as part of the UK’s International Climate Finance (ICF) portfolio. The programme works in partnership with countries with high emissions reduction potential that are eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA) to support them to implement and increase their ambitions for greenhouse gas reductions in line with their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the long-term goal of the 2015 Paris Agreement to limit dangerous climate change. Since its inception in 2018, UK PACT has already supported 34 clean growth projects across China, Colombia and Mexico.

The UK PACT Country Programmes respond to demand identified by partner governments by providing grants to implementing partners (NGOs, businesses, academia, etc.) who will deliver capacity-building support to address governments’ needs in areas such as green finance, clean energy and energy efficiency, and sustainable mobility. BEIS has partnered with Palladium International to deliver the Country Programmes in China, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico and South Africa.
