Improving climate governance and developing carbon positive value chains in the Indigenous territory of Charagua Iyambae

The project aims to improve and strengthen climate governance in Charagua and increase flows of finance for local communities and carbon-positive value chains through: 

  • Increasing capacity and knowledge of the public- and private-sector and communities in how to reduce deforestation through green financing.

  • Transparently and equitably including people and government in carbon markets.

  • Initiating a results-based payment mechanism to prevent forest loss and degradation.

  • Increasing indigenous access to markets through the expansion of community supported agriculture and productive restoration.
