We are pleased to announce that the UK Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions (UK PACT) programme has launched a new funding opportunity within the Mexico Fund, in the Climate Policy, Green Finance and AFOLU sectors.

Climate Policy, Green Finance and Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land-Use (AFOLU) are key sectors due to their potential for mitigation and alignment with Mexico’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and government priorities. The three pillars address the core challenges and opportunities essential for Mexico's successful climate transition. Strengthening governance ensures policies are effective and coherent; enhancing green finance unlocks necessary investments; and transforming agri-food and forest systems tackles major emissions and builds resilience on the ground.

**What are we looking for?
**Mexico-UK PACT Country Fund is inviting organisations to submit Expressions of Interest (EoI) as this cross-sectoral call targeted proposals that strengthen legislative and planning instruments, promote green procurement standards and seek landscape transformation. Through the implementation of Mexico's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), unlocking climate finance, and harnessing the mitigation potential of the AFOLU sector, it adopts a holistic approach to addressing climate challenges while generating co-benefits for ecosystems and communities.

Proposals should be responsive to Mexico's government priorities, technically sound, and designed to complement ongoing initiatives including other development programmes. While the scope of this call is targeted, applicants are encouraged to demonstrate innovation and collaboration, especially where proposals can help connect regulatory, market, institutional, and social inclusion elements in a coherent way. ** **

To be eligible for funding, all proposals must respond fully to one of the specific interventions from an intervention areas below:

**Sector 1. Climate Policy**

- **Intervention area 1.1 **– Advancing Mexico’s climate goals and strengthening NDC implementation.

**Sector 2. Green Finance  **

- **Intervention area 2.1.1 –** Classification and reporting standards for the sustainable finance mobilisation strategy and taxonomy appropriation by private sector.
- **Intervention area 2.1.2 – **Greening public budgets-investments, regulatory compliance support and green finance incentives.

**Sector 3. AFOLU**

- Intervention area 3.1.1 – Fostering climate action in crops.
- **Intervention area 3.2.1** – Climate reconversion in livestock landscapes.
- **Intervention area 3.3.1 **– Forest for the future. **
