The event

This webinar introduced potential applicants to the Nigeria-UK PACT Country Programme and outlined expectations for quality funding applications. It focused on the timelines and the two project themes – accelerating energy efficiency and nature-based solutions – before the call for proposals opened in October 2021.

The audience

This event targeted organisations interested in applying for funding from UK PACT to deliver ambitious climate action projects in Nigeria and support its NDC. Applicants should be experienced in delivering technical assistance projects that will allow them to build capacity in the thematic areas outlined below. Attendance was encouraged for small and large organisations, as well as those who wanted to find out more information to share with their networks.

The funding round in October 2021 focuses on two themes:

Nature-based solutions: accelerating the adoption of sustainable land management practices for climate mitigation

By developing alternative livelihoods, policies and pathways to protect Nigeria’s forests and natural environment, supporting the green recovery and addressing climate mitigation.

Accelerating energy efficiency: enabling the financing and adoption of healthier, more sustainable and efficient buildings and appliances to support climate action

To support climate action in Nigeria, reduce energy use and related costs for consumers, and support the sustainable development of Nigerian towns and cities by planning and building better homes, schools and offices.
