“Carriers want to reduce pollutant emissions from automotive freight transport, but many do not know how to reduce them, or how much it costs. In its first year, the Giro Zero project presented strategies that carriers, entrepreneurs and regulators in the sector can use to reduce emissions.”
- Carlos E. Hernández, Professor, School of Management, Universidad de los Andes
This project is collaborating with key transport beneficiaries to help decarbonise Colombia’s road freight sector. Through workshops and seminars, it is building the capacity of key stakeholders in state-of-the-art industry practices to transform the sector. The project aims to help increase the adoption of low-emission technologies and better environmental practices by proposing strategies for improving fleet configuration, management and logistics and use of renewable fuels.
