Call for Proposals: Energy Efficiency (now closed)

The Indonesia-UK PACT call for proposals in energy efficiency is closed.

Indonesia has set ambitious targets in achieving an energy efficiency rate of 17.4-% for all sectors by 2025. This is based on potential energy savings of 15-35% for the transportation and household subsectors, and 10-30% for the industrial and commercial subsectors. These savings will translate to a reduction of approximately 96.3 million tons of CO2 emissions in Indonesia, or around 30% of the country’s reduction target from the energy sector. Improvements in energy efficiency will not only help reduce the need for the state to provide energy subsidies but will also help the private sector become more competitive and decrease the amount Indonesians spend on energy, particularly important for lower-income groups.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking applications for grant projects that address a number of important opportunities for technical assistance and capacity building for the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, as well as other key stakeholders, to accelerate actions and refine policies in energy efficiency. The support will mainly focus on addressing key market barriers. This includes improving coordination amongst different energy actors and creating incentives (financial, fiscal, or otherwise) to accelerate carbon emission reductions. Supporting this sector will greatly contribute to reaching Indonesia’s climate targets and is therefore well aligned with UK PACT’s key objectives.
